Monotheism or Polytheism

religion in india

All atheists, regardless of their religion, are polytheists.

Polytheism allows for a deeper critique of religion. It recognizes that not all gods are created equal. Some polytheists worship one deity only, while others worship multiple deities at different times. Monotheists may complain about polytheism's inconsistent beliefs, but polytheists embrace a variety of beliefs.

There are pros and cons to atheism, just like any other belief system. Many scholars disagree on how deep polytheism is in atheists. However, some others state that all atheists believe at least one god.

Allah has interceded through our idols.

The belief that our idols are intercessors with Allah is very dangerous. This belief is based the myth that Allah is an entity located in a particular location. The only way to worship Allah is through Allah, and worshiping an idol will not do that.

They are living religions

Living religions, polytheists, are those who understand the relationship between humans and Gods. These religions have been often associated with the old world. However, they have evolved to monotheistic societies. Ancient Greek and Roman societies included gods into their cultic practices.

While polytheists might have many beliefs and practices to choose from, there are some commonalities among them. In many cases, the roots of polytheistic religious practice are found in local culture. In certain places, these communities have survived genocide as well as colonization.

They face the same modern challenges that monotheists.

The same challenges are faced by polytheists today as monotheists. Monotheism's evolutionary claims and alleged historical inevitability should be viewed with a certain amount of skepticism, and members of indigenous polytheistic traditions should be wary of aligning themselves with such claims. Instead, they should question whether their beliefs will tip the scales in actual time.

Monotheism arose from competing groups seeking power, and was not a triumph of one group over the other. As a result, the golah community developed strict monotheistic ideals, which delegitimized its gods and undermined the community's claim to the land.
