The passage of time is causing traditional religions to die. Western allopathic medicine can pinpoint the exact moment when a person dies. Eastern religions however incorporate pre-existing traditional traditions into their practice. These traditions include Buddhism and Hinduism as well as Bon, an indigenous Tibetan religion. Bon includes shamanic belief and practices to banish evil spirits. These religious traditions have combined to develop a sophisticated system for understanding how death happens.
Traditional religions are dying with time
Although traditional religions were long thought to be dead, recent evidence suggests that traditional religious practices are evolving. The Asatru faith is an Icelandic new faith that does not adhere to any particular doctrine but instead honors old customs and mythology. It's active in environmental and social issues, and is a popular choice among Icelanders. Similar movements have appeared across Europe, including Druidry in England. Some Asatru members are driven conservative traditional values and have clashed to those who believe different.

Western allopathic medical system can detect a moment when the body is dying.
Allopathic medicine, a type that relies on drugs to treat symptoms, is a type. These methods are focused on specific organ systems and don't consider the possibility of death. The term "allopathy" used to be used to denigrate alternative medicine but it is now more appropriate for Western medical systems.
Eastern religions incorporate pre-existing indigenous traditions
The geographic distinction between East-West religions is not exact and is therefore largely meaningless today in light of global transculturation. Some aspects of East-West religions are however common.
Protestantism
The Protestant movement was born at the beginning of the sixteenth century as a reaction to the teachings of the medieval Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. It grew to be one of three major forces in Christianity and spread throughout Europe and beyond. It shaped the social, political, and cultural life of many European countries.
Tibetan tradition
While some people believe that the Tibetan tradition is a dying religion others disagree. In their belief, the deceased remains connected to this world for as long as 21 days after dying. Their loved ones can still communicate with them and help to let go. This is a very comforting tradition. However it is important to keep in mind that the mind is still subtle.

Orthodox Catholicism
The decline of Orthodox Catholicism in the West is due to the changes made by the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic Church's view on the church is quite different to Orthodox Catholicism. The Orthodox Church emphasizes the importance of baptism, which is an act of cleansing and re-admission to the Church.
