A world religion class's goal is to expose students and teachers to the beliefs of various religions. They learn about seven of the world's most widely practiced religions and engage in respectful dialogue with believers of other traditions. This will enable them to learn about seven of the most widely practiced religions in the world and help them understand their own religious beliefs.
Students will learn seven of the most popular religions in the world.
Students will learn about different religions such as Christianity, Islam, Sikhism and Buddhism. They will also explore smaller religious groups and movements. There will be quizzes and assignments. Students must achieve a minimum grade of 70% to pass.
Identify and define terms such a monotheism or polytheism. Keep these terms in mind and you can use them again. Ask students to identify which faiths they are least familiar with. You can ask them to write down their answers in journals. Teachers should remind students to adhere to the ground rules when having discussions. Teachers should remind students that they will not share their personal information, and that discussions will focus on each faith without any negative judgements.
They will engage in mutually beneficial dialogue with believers in other traditions
Participants will be able to learn about the role of each religion as an ethical teacher for other religions during this course. These interactions will allow each tradition offer ethical suggestions that improve our learning and development. They will also serve as prophets or mystics, challenging and encouraging one another, and breaking down the barriers of hard-won faiths.
They will be able to explain their own religious beliefs
Students will be able describe their religious beliefs after learning about the many world religions. Students will be able to identify terms such as polytheism. Monotheism is also covered. It is important to explain these terms to students and give them a definition for later. Ask students to name the religions they don't know much about. Next, ask students to record their answers in a notebook or in the W column in a KWL table. The teacher should remind students that they must follow the rules while they do this. They should be reminded by their teacher that they can't discuss any personal information. Instead, the discussion should be about understanding each religion and not negative judgments.
A World religion class can be fun and interactive. Students can create quizzes, share their findings, or even organize a "Jeopardy!" You can even organize a "Jeopardy!" style competition. Students can also discuss new words, holidays, or religious observances.
They will be able participate in conflict resolution
This course will introduce students to the Abrahamic Religions, Judaism Christianity Islam. Students will also be introduced to Jewish Beth Din, the Palestinian tradition of sulha and Christian and Muslim courts, as well as individuals from diverse faith traditions. These studies will give students the skills to resolve conflicts.

When a student takes a World religion class, he or she will learn how religion affects our world and what it means. While religion study is difficult, it's also fun and rewarding. It does not require you to memorize formulas or learn by rote. It also inspires real-life skills. The study of religion can help students improve their ability understand themselves and others. Students will have a better understanding of the world and be more comfortable discussing difficult topics.
