Enhance is an evidence-based mindfulness program that aims to increase well-being by improving different cognitive skills. The program was tested on adult volunteers from Canada and the USA. It has been successfully replicated with college students. Its effectiveness was tested in four areas: cognitive functioning, attention, memory, physical activity, and spirituality. It was also found that participants enjoyed the most skill lessons that focused on their weakest points. However, both groups showed improvements in well being.
Self-directedness
Self-direction is one of the best ways to improve your health. This can be accomplished through a variety different activities. Music or art classes are two examples. A fitness class is also an option. These types of activities will make you happier in general.
Positive self-concept is another aspect of self direction. Because people who feel in charge and empowered are more likely than others to support their own self-direction. Positive self-concept helps people accept their responsibilities and be kinder to others.

Cooperativeness
The ability to cooperate is a vital social trait for human wellbeing and can even boost our moods. This is particularly true in workplaces where people need to work together to meet goals and achieve smooth operations. To foster a cooperative environment, workplace leadership can implement a number of approaches.
These results may not reflect everyday life because the study participants were college students. They may also not represent the entire U.S. population. However, prior studies have shown that cooperativeness is not correlated with ethnicity or gender. The study didn't measure participants' trust in strangers. This is critical to determine whether people are willing and able to cooperate.
Self-transcendence
Self-transcendence describes a state where you have an intention to be conscious and act in a way that reduces stress. It can help people find meaning and purpose in difficult situations, or even create new meaning after a loss. Increasing self-transcendence may transform a life situation or increase one's level of vulnerability into a positive outcome. Research has shown that self transcendence is a predictor of, mediator, or correlate of well-being.
Recent studies show that people who have experienced spiritual experiences scored higher in self-transcendence scores than those without. The study also showed that self-transcendence was linked to higher levels of traditional religiousness and paranormal belief. This relationship did not appear to be independent of existential wellbeing.

Character development
Angela Duckworth, founder of Character Lab is a nonprofit organization that promotes character development. She is also an assistant professor of psychology at Penn State University and Christopher H. Browne Professor. She also serves as faculty co-director of Penn-Wharton Behavior Change For Good Initiative. In addition to her academic work, Duckworth founded a summer school for low-income children. She has also worked as a management consultant and math and science teacher.
Character development is a complex process that requires a broad range of positive, self-motivated behavior. These behaviors are guided by values. One study found that Israeli twins were able to rate their values at 11 and 13 years old. It also showed a positive correlation with prosociality, benevolence, as well as negative associations with power, universalism, and achievement. On the other hand, popular concern and aggression had an opposite association pattern. Likewise, openness and conservation values were related to peer conformity and risk-taking.
