Enhance is a mindfulness program based on evidence that improves cognitive skills and well-being. The program has been studied with adult volunteers in the USA and Canada. It has been successfully replicated with college students. It was tested in four areas - cognitive functioning and attention, memory, mental capacity, physical activity, spirituality, and memory. Additionally, participants found the greatest benefit from skill lessons that target their weakest parts. Overall, though, the study found that participants in both groups experienced improvements in well-being.
Self-directedness
One of the ways to improve your well being is to learn how to be self-directed. It can be achieved through a variety activities. You may also enjoy art and music classes. You can sign up for a class in fitness. You will generally feel happier when you engage in these activities.
Self-direction can also be achieved by developing a positive self image. This is because people who feel in charge of their lives are more likely to support self-direction in others. Positive self-concepts help people to accept their human family members' responsibilities.

Cooperativeness
Cooperativeness is an important societal trait for human well-being, and it can boost our moods. This is especially true when people work together in order to achieve common goals and run smooth operations. The workplace leadership has a range of options to promote a cooperative atmosphere.
The participants were all college students so they may not have been representative of every day life. These results may not necessarily reflect the entire U.S. citizenry. Previous studies have not shown that cooperation is correlated with gender or ethnicity. The study didn't measure participants' trust in strangers. This is critical to determine whether people are willing and able to cooperate.
Self-transcendence
Self-transcendence refers to a state of consciousness and an intentional activity that can reduce stress and improve well being. It can help people gain meaning and purpose from a difficult situation or create new meaning after experiencing loss. A positive outcome can be achieved by increasing self-transcendence. It can also transform a person's life and increase vulnerability. Self-transcendence has been shown to be a predictor, mediator and correlate of well being.
Recent research has shown that those who have had spiritual experiences score higher in self-transcendence tests than those who didn't. They also found that self-transcendence was associated with higher levels of paranormal beliefs and traditional religiousness. This relationship was not independent of existential well being.

Character development
Angela Duckworth is founder of Character Lab, a nonprofit organization focused on character development. She is also a professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Christopher H. Browne Distinguished Professor. She is also co-director of Penn-Wharton Behavior Change For Good Initiative, and Wharton People Analytics. Duckworth established a summer school in the area of low-income children as part of her academic work. She is also a manager consultant and a science and math teacher.
Character development is multifaceted and involves a variety of positive and self motivated behaviors. These behaviors are guided by values. One study found that Israeli twins were able to rate their values at 11 and 13 years old. It also showed a positive correlation with prosociality, benevolence, as well as negative associations with power, universalism, and achievement. On the other hand, popular concern and aggression had an opposite association pattern. Likewise, openness and conservation values were related to peer conformity and risk-taking.
